Pocket Purse Craft What you need:
What you do: Begin by cutting along the edge of a back pocket of the jeans to remove it from the pants. At the top of the pocket section leave ½ inch strip of fabric. Fold this flap over and glue to the inside of the purse. This creates a nice smooth pocket edge on both sides. Next cut a 3 foot length of what ever you are using for your strap. This could be ribbon, fabric from an old tie or even an old belt. Here you have two options – you can sew the straps onto the side of the purse or you can hot glue them on. The choice is up to you but keep in mind sewing the straps on will make them stronger. Here is where you get to be creative. You get to decorate the front pocket part of the purse. You can use the craft glue and glue one cut out felt flowers, decorative braid, or some cool looking decals. You can also use fabric paints to decorate the front of the purse. Another fun option is to leave a strip of fabric at the bottom of the pocket and cut this into a fringe. Recycle and Share the FunThese purses are some fun and easy-to-make that you’ll want to make several to give as gifts for your friends as well. This is a great recycle craft too. So remember, don’t toss those old blue jeans away turn them into something fun and useful like a pocket purse.
