Fabric glue makes this pillow easy to make with no sewing involved.
Add some fun colorful decor to your bedroom this fall by making a no sew pumpkin shape pillow. This soft fluffy pillow is simple and easy to make. You can use fabric glue for a great no sew craft for your kids or you can use this kid's project as a great way to teach your child basic sewing skills. This cute pumpkin pillow also makes a great 4-H project or can go toward your scout's sewing badge or Brownie try-it. Fluffy Pumpkin PillowWhat you need:
What you do: 1. Draw with a pencil, or print out, a large pumpkin. If using two pieces of orange felt make sure it will fit on your piece of felt. Cut out your pumpkin to use as a template. 2. Trace around the pumpkin template onto the orange fleece or felt. Cut out two pumpkin pieces. 3. Place a thin line of fabric glue around the edge of one of the pumpkin pieces. Glue the other piece on top - lining up the edges. You will want the right side of the fabric facing you in the no sew version. Work in small sections at a time. Leave a small section unglued so you can stuff your pillow. Allow the glue to dry solidly before attempting to stuff - let it set at least several hours. 4. Stuff your pillow as firmly as you would like. Glue the opening edge shut. Allow to dry. 5. Draw, cut out and trace onto brown felt a pumpkin stem. Glue into place on the top of the pumpkin. If you like you can cut out two and stuff them with a little bit of stuffing before gluing in place. 6. Draw, cut out and trace onto green felt one or two pumpkin leaves. As with the stem you can cut out two of each leave and slightly stuff before gluing onto your pillow. Optional Sewing Directions:The directions are basically the same as for the no sew pillow except you do not glue the edges in place. You can have the child sew the fabric right sides together and turn inside out to stuff. Or sew the pumpkin pillow wrong sides together and have the stitching show as decoration. If the stitching is going to show you might opt for a whip stitch instead of a running stitch. Sew or glue on leaves and stem. This is a great first fabric craft for younger kids and a fun way to introduce kids to sewing as well. These are fast and easy and make great gifts to give to family and friends.
